General Infomation Of Sermorelin
Sermorelin acetate is the acetate salt of an amidated synthetic 29-amino acid peptide (GRF 1-29 NH 2 ) that corresponds to the amino-terminal segment of the naturally occurring human growth hormon-releasing hormone (GHRH or GRF) consisting of 44 amino acid residues.
It stimulates the pituitary gland to naturally produce increased amounts of human growth hormon. Sermorelin Acetate is a truncated analog of a growth hormon releasing factor (GRF 1-44) that is naturally produced by the brain to stimulate pituitary production of human growth hormon. The increased volume of human growth hormon produced by the pituitary gland causes an increase in the production of by the liver and results in the benefits of treatment provided to the adult patient.
The purpose of adult Sermorelin growth hormon therapy is to reverse the effects of aging and secure the extensive treatment benefits described below.
Since 1980, scientists have been studying GHRH for many years. Dr. D. Rudman was testing Sermorelin as a tool for anti-aging processes and Dr. William Wehrenberg was looking at different peptides and particularly GHRH to identify which part of it is needed for pituitary gland stimulating response. His results after eliminating single amino acids showed that 29-acid-chains were held responsible for pituitary stimulation.
Many research studies have concluded that Sermorelin is a well tolerated analogue of GHRH. As a result, this is suitable for use as a provocative test of hormone deficiency (Prakash and Goa 1999). In 1999, both researchers, Goa and Prakash checked Sermorelin Hormone as provocative tasting method for deficiency of endogenous .
Sermorelin therapy increased the volume of hormone secreted by the stimulated pituitary gland, which is later converted by the liver into IG F-1. The increased amount of IG F-1 in the blood stream leads to many benefits from the use of Sermorelin : Increasing metabolism and growth of new cells within the body's organs and bones.
Benefits of Sermorelin
Besides the obvious advantages of sermorelin detailed above, you may want to know how you can benefit from using this therapy. Perhaps the easiest way to understand the potential benefits of replacement therapy is to look at the symptoms of decline and the effect replacement has on those symptoms. These are detailed below:
1. Changes in Body Composition
Changes in body composition due to decreasing levels of are reflected by a decrease in lean body mass (muscle) and an increase in fat mass. Correcting levels has been shown to reverse this state by improving muscle mass and reducing fat.
2. Bone Mineral Density
Research indicates that deficiency in adults contributes to a reduction in bone density and therefore increased risk of osteoporosis. It has also been shown that replacement therapy for greater than 12 months results in improved bone mineral density and hence, lower risk of osteoporosis.
3. Muscle Strength
Due to changes in body composition detailed above, muscle strength is understandably compromised. As therapy corrects body composition and improves muscle mass, muscle strength also improves. The best results are gained after 12 months of therapy.
4. Joint Health
By improving bone mineral density and increasing muscle mass and strength, therapy can help to prevent joint deterioration that is a feature of arthritis. Optimal growth hormon levels are also essential for health of connective tissue such as the synovium found in joints.
5. Exercise Performance
Exercise performance is reduced in individuals with growth hormon deficiency. This appears to be partially due to reductions in bone density and muscle mass but also in part due to a reduction in oxygen uptake. therapy for 6 months has been shown to improve exercise performance by improving muscle mass and also oxygen uptake
6. Heart Health
There is evidence of a greater risk of heart disease in individuals with growth hormon deficiency and it has been hypothesized that this is due to a greater propensity to develop premature atherosclerosis (a build-up of plaque inside the arteries which increases risk of heart attack and stroke). Growth hormon deficiency also results in changes in heart size and function. These changes have been demonstrated to be reversed after 6 months therapy.
Growth hormon deficiency results in a reduced resting metabolism and replacement therapy reverses this decrease. therapy has also been shown to increase protein synthesis, increase fat oxidation, normalize carbohydrate metabolism and reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol. These favorable effects on metabolism may in part explain some of the other benefits of including improved hearth health and body composition.
8. Skin Thickness
A reduction in skin thickness and all-important skin collagen is another result of growth hormon deficiency. Both conditions are improved by therapy.
9 Immune Function
Although adults with growth hormon deficiency are not normally considered to have a compromised immune system, there is some evidence to suggest that therapy can help regulate immune function.
It has been demonstrated that people with growth hormon deficiency have more difficulty with sexual relationships and reportedly, lower energy levels. Many individuals have found an improvement in energy, libido and sexual performance following therapy, some men even claiming an improvement in problems with premature ejaculation.
11. Quality of Life
Reduced psychological well-being has been reported in individuals with growth hormon deficiency and replacement has resulted in improvements in mood, energy and general feelings of well-being.
